Monday Motivation

Seeing all of the marathon coverage and Facebook updates this weekend made me really nostalgic thinking about my marathon experience last year. It was something I never thought I could do and working towards that goal was one of the most empowering things I have experienced.

Looking back on the marathon has almost completely cured me of my lack of motivation. I’m not in the shape I want to be right now, but I know I can get back where I want to be. I can be better.

So this morning when my alarm went off and I was angry and frustrated, I ran it off. I went to the gym and knocked out two miles on the treadmill. Now I am motivated. It’s nice to have found my drive again.

What’s motivating you this Monday? Did the Marathon inspire you? How do you find your drive when you’re frustrated?

  1. I’m so happy for you!! And this post came at a great time for me. I had a horrible long run last week and it’s made me want to quit training but I gotta get back into it!!

  2. After running Chicago last year I swore I’d never run it again but volunteering yesterday really made me want to give it another go. I feel the need to give it one more try!

  3. I couldn’t agree more – the marathon madness this weekend was so inspiring! I was hoping that spectating would bring back my motivation and it did. We found the solution to the motivation problem!

  4. So happy it gave you the push to get that run in! 🙂 Spectating does that for me too! 🙂
