Welcome! I’m Katie, a 26 year old newlywed who lives in the Chicagoland area. The goal of this blog is to hold myself accountable to my health and fitness goals while maintaining a positive attitude. I started this blog in 2011 to track my progress while training for my first full marathon. I finished the race and in the process raised almost $6,000 for the JDRF in memory of my Mom. Now, I’m working towards a balance in my every day life as a new wife!

After completing the 5/3rd 25k I have fallen into a slump of wedding planning, moving apartments, and life in general….unfortunately I have no races planned this fall (my wedding is October 8th) but your workouts are motivating me for next year’s race plans (another 25k and hopefully a marathon next fall). Good luck with the race! I think the fundraiser is a great idea too (where can you donate?)

    • Thank you Michaela! I totally understand about being in slump. I was definitely in one before signing up for the marathon but knew I needed to kick my butt into gear. I am glad to motivate you! The fundraiser is my best motivator to date-you can donate here.
